The XXI. century laser technology in Miercurea-Ciuc

The surgical Pixel CO2 system is intended for use in surgical applications requiring excision, incision, ablation, vaporization and coagulation of soft tissue using light energy emitted by a carbon dioxide laser in surgical applications.

CO2 Laser and tissue Interaction (Pixel = microscopic columns of thermal damage)
- Micro-Ablative effect (vaporization)
- Coagulation effect
- Thermal effect

- FemiLift procedures -
- FemiLift procedures deliver pixel CO2 laser energy uniformly along the vaginal lining
- The controlled tissue injury is resulted with wound healing response including neocollagenesis and remodelling of the connective tissue of the lamina propria

Wound healing response
Physiologic and functional recovery of the vaginal mucosa includes 3 phases:
Phase I. (Within 48-72 hr.): Early thermal effect
- Edema
- Release of chemical mediators
- Shrinkage of collagen and elastic fibers

Phase II (in the following 30 day): Proliferation
- Epithelial cells proliferation and differentiation
- New extracellular matrix
- New collagen fibers

Phase III (after 30- 40 days): Remodelling
- Mature collagen fibers, increased collagen fiber strain
- Neovascularization: new blood vessel formation with improved lubrication
- Normalize vaginal pH and flora helping to eliminate chronic vaginal infections
- Mid urethra support strengthening with improved urinary retention
- Restores the mucosal quality of the vaginal walls and enhances the sensitivity of vaginal tissue

- Patient selection -
During the first visit to the clinic/hospital, the physician should:
- Obtain a detailed patient medical history, including previous treatment modalities
- Examine the gynecology condition for treatment suitability with the CO2 system
- Determine the reason the patient is seeking treatment and understand her expectations
- Discuss the treatment protocol (multiple treatments recommended) and post treatment effects to be expected
- Have the patient fill and sign an informed consent form
- Confirm a negative pregnancy test prior to the treatment
- Confirm a negative Pap smear test during the last 3 months prior to the treatment

Patient exclusion criteria
- Main contraindications -
- Patients under medication which cause photosensitivity
- Patients with active vaginal infection
- Patients with diagnosed collagen diseases
- Patients with active urinary infection
- Pregnancy
- Patients with oncology pathologies
- Herpes viral infection
- Patients undergoing chronic cortical steroid therapies
